Mr. Harper focuses his energies on directing overall corporate and strategic policy for the Broadband Wireless, Defense, and Optical/Millimeter Wave product lines.

Prior to founding Sierra Monolithics in 1988, Mr. Harper worked for several high technology companies in the Southern California area. He served as Manager of Advanced Technology Development at Magnavox, Director of Business Planning at Mattel, Assistant Director of Management Services at Lear Sieger, and several engineering and executive management positions at the Garrett/Allied Signal Corporation.

Mr. Harper has been a speaker at numerous convergences on small technology businesses. Mr. Harper also serves on a number of boards and councils including the California Council on Science and Technology(CCST), University of Southern California (USC) EE Advisory Council, Council of the University of Southern California Integrated Media Systems Center(IMSC), and the MIT Sloan School Dean Advisory Council (DAC).

Mr. Harper received a BSEE degree from Tennessee State University, an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and was a doctoral candidate in marketing and economics at the UCLA Graduate School of Management.
