OPTICAL FIELD SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER (Req# 040739)



JOB DESCRIPTION

The Optical Field Sales Account Manager will be responsible for the development and growth of sales for assigned accounts, consisting of direct interface with engineers developing Optical Systems and Subsystems at 40 Gbps. He/she will provide leadership in implementing strategies to build brand recognition, increase customer contacts, generate new accounts, manage existing accounts, and other tasks necessary to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. His/her activities will be consistent with strategic corporate objectives as well as short and long term financial goals. This includes, but is not limited to, profitability goals, sales targets, forecasting, and strategic account penetration.

The Field Sales Account Manager will work closely with the Worldwide Director of Sales to:
  • Implement sales strategies including short term and long term objectives
  • Provide monthly forecasts for target accounts and quarterly business plans
  • Provide effective information to product marketing managers and design engineers to create new products and upgrade existing products
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through in-depth technical and product application knowledge

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Capability of interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • College or university program degree/certificate, or 4-6 years related sales experience and/or training
  • Applicant should have previous experience in sales of Electronic ICs or Modules
  • Applicant should have rudimentary technical knowledge of Optical Communications system structure, basic network topology, partitioning, and subcomponent function. Awareness of major customers and suppliers in the Optical communication space is desirable
  • Ability to assist customers with resolution of product questions and problems
  • Requires a minimum of 40 to 50% travel to both International and Domestic customers
  • International experience is preferred but not required
  • Applicant is required to reside either in San Jose or Los Angeles
