JOB DESCRIPTION

The Program Manager will support the New Product Development (NPD) process for all products from pipeline management (Opportunity Gate 0) through release to production (Manufacturing Release & Intro Gate 4). This includes development and refinement of a planning methodology to be used by all development projects, collation of projects costs, timelines, staffing in support of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) planning process, the publishing and maintenance of the collection of approved projects that represent the Plan of Record (POR) for new and derivative products, the maintenance of the corporate Project Priority List (PPL) and facilitation of the “what if”-driven review/prioritize process which may impact the PPL outside of the AOP planning cycle, the coordination of the NPD gate review meetings, the regular reporting on project status to upper management and select key customers in the new product review and program review meetings, the development and reporting of leading and lagging indicators to be reported concurrent with project status, and the facilitation of post-mortems for every project with ownership of the subsequent incorporation of best practices into procedures and processes governing the product life cycle.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • BS Eng. degree with a minimum of 5 years project and/or program management is required
  • Estimation, planning, scheduling and execution to agreed requirements
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project or equivalent tools
  • Excellent risk management skills
  • Proven track record of on-time and exceptional quality project completion through emphasis on deliverables and accountability
  • Specific experience in project management for ICs or modules/systems that make extensive use of complex ICs
  • Proven ability to work through influence in a matrixed multi-site and/or multi-time-zone development environment and manage direct relationships with key project stakeholders in an objective manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively and garner respect at the individual engineer and executive levels both internally and with key customers
  • Knowledge of quality systems like ISO and/or Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM) and/or Total Quality Management (TQM)
  • Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic leading edge environment
  • Self-motivation and the ability to motivate others in pursuit of solutions
  • 10-20% travel between facilities may be required

  • Added Pluses are:
    • Specific experience in Analog intensive ICs, 10Gbps and beyond SERDES technologies, or commercial RF ICs or modules
    • A formal project management certification, for example Project Management Professional (PMP)
