RF MICROWAVE DESIGN ENGINEER (Req# 040713)

JOB DESCRIPTION

This individual will be involved in the design of sophisticated 2-60 GHz wireless RF and Microwave designs of boards, modules, and test fixtures.

Specific responsibilities include:

Design matching structures between Sierra Monolithics chips and other devices
Design all or parts of Sierra Monolithicsreference design boards
Design all or parts of Sierra Monolithics microwave modules
Design RF test boards and fixtures for testing products
Perform engineering tests of emerging product designs
Prepare and participate in design reviews
Develop verification plans for reference designs and microwave modules
Validate circuit performance in test laboratory facilities
Diagnose problems and formulate rework or redesign solution

JOB REQUIREMENTS

This individual will be designing radios and other high frequency devices, and must have excellent RF and Microwave design skills. Must be analytic and knowledgeable of design approachesfor transceivers and other complex systems. In addition, the successful candidate must have:

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience or BSEE degree with at least 5 years of applicable industry experience
Familiarity with Microwave Office, Ansoft, and other RF design tools
Experience working in a commercial radio development team
Intimate working experience with RF/Microwave test equipment including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.
