RF ASIC DESIGN ENGINEER (Req# 040712)



JOB DESCRIPTION

This individual will be involved in the design of sophisticated 2-60 GHz wireless RF, 40 Gb/s wireline, ADC, and DAC applications in SiGe BiCMOS, CMOS, and RF CMOS integrated circuits. Much of the design activity is facilitated using Cadence design tools.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Understand and analyze system level design requirements
  • Review prior art and investigate solutions to requirements
  • Work within team to design and simulate viable circuits
  • Support circuit layout and post-layout simulation
  • Prepare and participate in design reviews
  • Develop verification plans for designs of high-volume RFIC's
  • Validate circuit performance in test laboratory facilities
  • Diagnose problems and formulate rework or redesign solution

JOB REQUIREMENTS

This individual will be designing radios and other high frequency devices, and must have excellent RF design knowledge. Must be analytic and knowledgeable of design approaches and constraints in RFICs. In addition, the successful candidate must have:
  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience or BSEE degree with at least 5 years of applicable industry experience
  • Familiarity with Cadence schematic, layout, and simulation tools
  • Experience working in a commercial IC development team
  • Experience with IC engineering life cycle (system definition, system architecture, simulation, circuit design, etc)
